Partner, Investments & Chair of Create

Bridget van Kralingen joined Motive Partners in 2022 as a Partner on the Investment team, bringing extensive experience in financial services, consulting, and technology.

As a member of the Motive leadership team, Bridget is also a member of the firm’s Growth & Buyout Investment Committee and serves as Chair of Create, overseeing the business and working closely with its leadership team to drive value creation. At Motive, she developed and oversees the firm’s Data, Analytics and AI investment theses, as well as leading portfolio performance and monitoring processes with a focus on strategy, driving growth and innovation across Motive’s portfolio companies. In addition, Bridget leads our Industry Partners, focusing talent on business strategy and execution in the firm’s investment decisions and portfolio company acceleration. She is also a Non-Executive Director at Motive Partners portfolio companies BetaNXT and CAIS. Bridget is a member of the Board of Directors for Discovery Limited, IEX, Teradyne, Travelers, Schrodinger, and the New York Historical Society.

Prior to Motive, Bridget spent nearly 18 years in a variety of Chief Executive roles at IBM and most recently served as CEO/SVP of IBM Global Markets & Sales division, where she was responsible for leading the company’s $80 billion revenue and profit and more than 100,000 employees. In this role, Bridget led strategy, execution, offerings, go-to-market, business development, field operations, delivery and client satisfaction worldwide across all geographic markets and global industries. Bridget was a leading member of the IBM Investment Committee for the last dozen years, overseeing investments, divestitures, and providing strategic leadership to the corporate development activities of IBM. She also served on the firm’s executive operating and strategy teams during this period.

Before that, Bridget was the Chief Executive of IBM's Industry Platforms software division. She founded and led this startup to scale and market leadership within IBM, building and delivering industry software solutions and blockchain technology. Bridget was also accountable for developing, executing and delivering results of IBM’s end-to-end Financial Services capabilities, the company’s global industries, top accounts and partnership programs. From 2012 to 2016, Bridget was CEO of IBM's global consulting division, representing $17 billion of revenue and over 150,000 employees, and comprised of digital, cloud and analytics consulting, software development and technology and business process outsourcing.

Prior to IBM, Bridget was a Partner at Deloitte, during which she was Managing Partner of Deloitte's Financial Services practice in North America.

In 2025, Bridget was named a finalist for the Markets Choice Women in Finance Lifetime Achievement award, honoring the indelible mark that Bridget has made on every organization she has led – and continues to drive innovation and opportunity for the next generation of talent and ideas in finance. Bridget has been recognized 9 times as a FORTUNE Most Powerful Woman and was a researcher and industrial psychologist early in her career.
