Laurent Caraffa joined Motive Partners in 2026 and is an Industry Partner.

At Motive, Laurent’s focus is on extending Motive’s relationships with major financial institutions, leveraging his extensive experience in capital markets and financial technology, to assist in sourcing strategic investment opportunities across Europe, as well as partnership and distribution opportunities for portfolio companies.

Prior to joining Motive Partners, Laurent served as Managing Director, EU Senior Relationship Manager with Barclays in London. In this role, Laurent managed the Group strategic relationships with financial institutions, exchanges and financial data companies in Europe.

During his tenure, Laurent sat on the Barclays EMEA Corporate & Investment Bank Insurance Committee, Bank Committee and Blockchain Council. Since the launch of the original Barclays-Techstars accelerator, Laurent has also been actively mentoring and advising entrepreneurs, sourcing deals and investing in early stage venture in Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, FinTech & InsurTech, HealthTech and Quantum technologies.

Prior to joining Barclays, Laurent held senior leadership positions with Dresdner Kleinwort including Head of Capital Markets in France, Global Head of Equity Sales in London as well as Head of Equity Capital Markets, Corporate Block Transactions. He initially joined Dresdner Bank in Frankfurt on secondment from BNPP to lead the capital markets partnership in Europe between the two banks. Before Dresdner Bank, Laurent worked for BNPP in Hong Kong and in London where he was last in charge of Group Treasury international funding transactions prior to BNP privatization.

Laurent majored in Finance from Paris Business School (ESCP Europe).
