Scott Kauffman joined Motive Partners in 2018, where he is a Founding Partner and Head of Investments.
As a member of the Motive leadership team, he is also a member of the firm’s Growth & Buyout Investment Committee and Ventures Investment Committee. Scott focuses on strategy, investment thesis, deal origination, execution and value creation for Motive Partners and its more than 15 Growth & Buyout portfolio companies. In addition, Scott serves on the Board of Directors of Accordion, BetaNXT, InvestCloud, LPA, Lyra, Splitit and Wilshire, all Motive Partners portfolio companies.
Prior to joining Motive Partners, Scott was most recently a Partner of Oak Hill Capital Partners responsible for investments in the Financial Services and Business Services sector. At Oak Hill, Scott advised CEOs and senior management of portfolio companies on strategy, operations, financial issues and M&A, leveraging a track record of investing in, building and advising businesses globally across all sectors of financial services.
Prior to Oak Hill, Scott was a Managing Director with the Global Financial Institutions Group. He was also the Co-COO of the Americas Financial Institutions Bank Group and a member of the Merger Leadership Group In this role, he provided strategic advice and transaction execution to public and private companies, board of directors and executive management in connection with domestic and international mergers, acquisitions, buy-outs and divestitures, as well as equity, hybrid and debt financing alternatives, across all sectors of financial services, including Financial Technology, Banking and Specialty Finance, Insurance, and Capital Markets. At Goldman, Scott was also involved in principal opportunities, balance sheet restructurings and interest rate management transactions.
Scott earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Bryant College and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
