Hugo Bongers joined Motive Partners in 2023 as a Partner on the Ventures team based in the Netherlands. At Motive, Hugo is responsible for sourcing and executing investment opportunities with a focus on identifying trends and growth for Motive portfolio companies through his experience in financial services and venture capital.

Prior to joining Motive, Hugo was a Managing Director and the Head of ABN AMRO Ventures. He built and led the fund from €10m to €150m AUM and made twenty-five fintech investments, along with eight successful exits. Hugo is a member of the board of directors of Solaris, Penta, Receeve, Bux, ThreatFabric, and Hadrian. Previously, Hugo spent 6 years at Rabobank in their leveraged finance team working on the structuring and financing of numerous private equity sponsor backed transactions in the TMT sector. Hugo has also worked at a single family office for 6 years where he was involved in the buy & build strategy of a leading vertical market software player named Total Specific Solutions, now part of Constellation Software. TSS was created from scratch and after 6 years it was a company with over €200m in revenue and more than 2,000 employees.

Hugo holds a MSc in Economics and a LL.M. in Law from the Utrecht University.
