Sean Soderlund joined Motive Partners in 2021 and is an Senior Associate on the Finance, Compliance and Operations Team based out of the New York office. At Motive, Sean supports the funds and the firm’s financial reporting, accounting and operations functions.

Prior to joining Motive, Sean was a Senior Associate at KPMG LLP in the firm's Deal Advisory practice. During his tenure, Sean worked in financial due diligence and provided M&A advisory services for private equity clients, focusing on target companies’ quality of earnings, net working capital considerations, historical and projected financial trends, operating and performance metrics, and budget vs. actual analysis. Previously, Sean worked in the Deal Advisory practice with a six-month rotation in Accounting Advisory Services, where he provided accounting and financial reporting advice as well as IPO support for the firm’s clients.

Sean graduated from Penn State University’s Smeal College of Business with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a minor in International Business. Sean is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of New York.
